Everything you need to learn to make a Quick and Easy Decorative Zipper Pouch:

(1) 14″ Fancy Zip from the 12-pack (now on sale + extra 20% off if your total order is $50)
(2) Pieces of fabric, 11″ x 9″ (perfect for pencil pouch) – sizing is flexible, just make sure the edges are less than 14″ and that the (2) fabric pieces are the same

Here are the Steps:

1. Place the fabric pieces right sides together and sew a quarter-inch seam along the two shorter sides, or the sizes that will ultimately be sewn with the decorative zipper.

2. Turn the unit right side out, then press the seams flat for neat edges that are ready to sew with.

3. Sew the zipper onto one edge, aligning the fabric just below the teeth of the zipper. Repeat with the other side, making sure that the fabric lines up on both sides of the zipper.

4. Turn the unit inside-out and decide where you want the decorative zipper. Some people like having the zipper in the middle or offset from the middle, but I’m placing mine at the top. Then, with the zipper open 2/3 of the way, sew the sides closed 1/4″ seam along both edges.

5. Trim the excess zipper ends, and reach through the opening of the zipper to turn the unit right-side out to reveal your finished project.

This project is so cute and perfect for storing your pens, pencils, or any essentials you’ll need on the go. When you learn how to use these decorative zippers to make quick and easy zipper pouches, you can essentially make a pouch of any shape and size to suit any other need. Enjoy your new practical and stylish pouch made with love and creativity!
