The 2024 Machine Sampler Minis – 12 Incredible Mini Quilt Patterns

If you know anything about our past events, this will be our third and BIGGEST year yet with 12 mini quilt patterns! Whether you’re a seasoned quilter or just starting out, this event is the perfect opportunity to learn, practice, and try different piecing techniques with the guidance of some incredible designers.

Meet the Designers

This year, we’ve brought together 12 talented quilters, each providing a unique mini quilt pattern and a video tutorial to guide you through the process. You’ll get hands-on experience with a variety of piecing techniques, all without the commitment of a full quilt pattern.

The Mini Quilt Pattern Projects

Each of the designers have written a pattern and recorded a video tutorial that each focuses on a different piecing technique. There is something new to learn with each of these minis! Here are the techniques you’ll get to practice, and a photo of each of the projects you can make: Paper piecing, on-point piecing, Quarter-Square Triangles (QSTs), English Paper Piecing (EPP), Modified Half-Square Triangles (HSTs), Equilateral Triangles, Curved Piecing, Folded Log Cabin, Flying Geese, Fussy Cutting, Appliqué, and Impro Piecing. I personally made all of these projects as a tester, and can say for sure that I learned a whole lot!

What is the Point of Making Mini Quilts from Our Patterns?

Mini quilts minis are perfect projects for learning and practicing different techniques while using your scraps – all without the commitment of making an entire quilt. Besides, you’ll end up with a mini that you can either hang on the wall or turn into something small and useful like a pouch, pillowcase, mug rug, anything ☺️

What are the Fabric Requirements for the Mini Quilt Patterns?

This is a choose-your-own adventure, so the amount of fabrics you use will depend on which mini quilts you’d like to learn from and make. While each mini quilt pattern has its on fabric requirements, we recommend the use of scraps, fat quarters, and fat eighths.

What Else Should I Know About Machine Sampler Minis?

Not only will you have fun creating these mini quilts, but you’ll also have the chance to win some amazing prizes! To be eligible, simply follow each of the 12 designers on Instagram, make their mini quilt patterns, and post your creations using the hashtag #machinesamplerminis. You have until June 20th to share your minis and be in the running for these prizes.

Remember, while the prize eligibility ends on June 20th, you’ll have access to the patterns forever if you download them. However, access to the video tutorials and the portal is available for one year after purchase. So make sure to make the most of this time and get as much inspiration and learning as you can!
